Inclusion & Diversity
We believe great work happens when people feel valued and supported.
A culture where everyone belongs
We may be diverse by nature, but we are inclusive by choice.
Our Inclusion & Diversity Policy demonstrates Novuna’s commitment to creating a workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
We actively oppose all forms of discrimination and foster a safe, welcoming environment that benefits our colleagues, customers and communities.
Our Charter & Policy
Our I&D commitment is formalised through a clear governance framework that includes:
Our Inclusion & Diversity Policy, sets out our standards, expectations and measurement criteria.
Our membership of external charters and frameworks holds us to high standards of transparency and accountability.
These frameworks ensure we go beyond ambition to deliver tangible, measurable progress across the business.
How We Embed Inclusion & Diversity Into Our Business
1. Leadership & Accountability
Inclusion and diversity are overseen by our Social & Human Committee and integrated into our executive-level performance metrics. Leaders are accountable for embedding inclusive practices and delivering measurable progress.
2. Colleague Networks & Allyship
We’re proud to support a range of colleague-led networks which promote awareness, mentoring and open dialogue across our organisation.
3. Inclusive Recruitment & Progression
We want everyone to feel they belong at Novuna, and that starts with how we hire. As a Top 50 Inclusive Employer and signatory of the Women in Finance and Race at Work charters - and part of the Disability Confident scheme - we’re committed to accessible, inclusive recruitment.
Our process offers clear role descriptions, flexible working options and reasonable adjustments where needed. We also regularly review hiring data to remove barriers and ensure our workforce reflects the diverse communities we serve.
4. Learning, Awareness & Culture
Through inclusive leadership programmes and colleague events - such as National Inclusion Week and Pride Month - we build awareness, skills and a stronger sense of belonging.
Our 2024 colleague survey found that 88% of employees feel respected and included at Novuna.
Why It Matters
- A genuinely inclusive business drives better decision-making: research shows diverse teams are 33% more likely to outperform.
- For our customers, partners and investors, I&D is a marker of responsible business and operational robustness.
- For our colleagues, it means equal access to opportunity, improved wellbeing, and the ability to bring their full selves to work - all of which are critical to our performance and service promise.
Measuring Our Progress
- Women now hold over 31% of senior management roles, up from 27% when we joined the Women in Finance Charter.
- We’re on track to reach our goal of 35% female representation in leadership by 2025/26.
- We’ve reduced our gender pay gap, achieving small but steady year-on-year improvements in both mean and median pay.
