Launching our new Shopify payment app

Wednesday 27th March 2024

We are one of the few major lenders to provide an approved Shopify payment app.

This is great news as it allows us to support even more retailers who wish to offer finance to their customers.

About the new Shopify app

Our payment app allows online retailers to offer a range of finance options to their customers via our market-leading credit application system. You can also add finance to product pages to remind your customers of the flexible payment options available, enhancing their overall shopping experience.

It’s easy for you to manage, too – orders will be automatically processed so offering finance is hassle free for your team.

The new payment app works in a similar way to our other plugins, allowing you to fast-track the integration process so you can get started offering finance sooner. As with all our other plugins, the Shopify payment app is a free plugin with no charges to download and install*.

The app incorporates many of our unique features including:

  • Tailored finance solutions
  • Deposit collection
  • E-signature technology
  • Soft search credit functionality
  • Finance calculator
  • Automated order updates

If you have any particular requirements, please get in touch with the team to discuss possible solutions.

*Transaction fees apply, please speak to your Relationship Manager.

Developing the new payment app

Historically we have always been able to support retailers via our Shopify plugin. However, significant changes to the Shopify platform in recent years required us to rebuild the plugin as a new payment app.

Novuna’s e-commerce team have worked tirelessly over the past few years to complete the project. It involved many moving parts, including developing business cases, getting access to Shopify’s Partner Development Programme, building and testing the new version before finally going through a rigorous approvals process.

It’s fair to say the team were delighted when the new payment app was approved towards the end of 2023, allowing us to go live in January 2024.

Rolling out the Shopify app – what to expect

Our new Shopify payment app can be downloaded from a link provided by our team and installed in a few minutes with just 6 easy steps. We expect retailers to be up-and-running in a matter of weeks – or even days.

We’ll provide an in-depth user guide for retailers who prefer to fly solo, or our e-commerce experts are on hand to support you and your development team at every stage of the installation.

One of the great things about our integration process is that it’s bespoke to you. Furthermore, once the payment app is all set up and launched, we’ll provide ongoing support for any future queries or requests.

Shopify app for new retailers

We’re now able to throw open our doors and welcome retailers whose e-commerce site is hosted by Shopify.

If you have a Shopify site and you’re ready to start offering retail finance to boost traffic and increase conversions, do get in touch with our team.

Shopify app for existing retailers

Retailers already onboarded with us who used our previous Shopify plugin are now able to migrate to the new payment app. In the last month or so we’ve already migrated several retailers, with many more on the horizon.

If you’re a retailer currently awaiting a move from our legacy plugin to our new payment app, please get in touch with your Relationship Manager.

Staying one step ahead of the competition

We’re dedicated to providing the best service for our retailers, whatever their e-commerce platform.

As one of the only retail finance providers to bring out a payment app for Shopify, we hope this development will allow even more retailers to support their customers and offer them better ways to pay.

We believe retail finance should be as accessible to retailers as possible, which is why our integration process is designed to be straightforward and simple. There are no set-up costs or hidden charges, and you’ll be supported by a dedicated project manager at every stage.
